• Museums - Most are free in the UK, before you go, check out the museum's webpage and see what's on. In the USA, most museums have one free day per month. Bring a little cash to spend on a cup of tea at the museum shop, or, if the date is going well, plan to stroll to a nearby coffee shop or pub. (Do your homework, make sure the walk is nice, and know where you are going!)
  
  
• Go for a walk - Take advantage of the seasons; spring has sprung! Check out the floral splendor of your local parks. Turn a stroll in the gardens/woods into a free date.
  
  
• Go to a local Market - Farmers markets: some have more than just fresh fruit and veg. Take your free date to see artists draw in the street, musicians jam, and vendors sell prepared food. Better yet, plan a day-long event, pick up fresh vegetables and fruits with your date, take them home, prepare a stir-fry, spaghetti with the fresh vegetables and a fresh fruit cobbler. • Go for a Cycle - Don't be put off if you don't own a bike.....Rent or borrow bicycles to go for a ride in a park or along the river.
  
  
• Go for a Picnic - You don't need a fancy picnic basket for this free date; just pack well. A backpack and/or cooler bag should suffice. Bring fresh bread and nice cheese, smoked meats, crackers and dip, fresh seasonal fruit, and biscuits. Bring a small cutting board and knife, a blanket to sit on, some napkins and unbreakable cups. Remember to bring water and a nice beverage treat: sparkling water, organic juice, nice ale or vino (remember a bottle opener!). Add a hike to make a day-long free date!
